[quote=roman2025]Are you talking about GoLauncher HD or were you able to modify a stock JB launcher? Stock JB launchers will run (well, the one from my M1 earlier firmware works and I think that actually came from cube) however the go into "phone mode". I have the build.prop set to "tablet" so I at least get my bar across the bottom however the problem is that I don't get my app menu button at the top right. Also, the soft volume keys are unnecessary and in portrait mode they run over into the notification area... annoying. I have played with different dpi settings which can help with the bar, but it makes fonts too small, it like, i need one DPI for the bar and a totally different DPI for everything else. I am not good at APK modding or theming, otherwise I would take care of it myself but that is getting a bit deeper than I know how to.

Anyhow, if you were able to get a stock JB launcher (not the launcher that comes with it) and mod it I would be much obliged :)

The problem with the other RK3066 launchers is they do not have drawable-sw480dp-xx compiled in the launcher. This is necessary for the S1. So I just took stock "the one that came with" and modded it. I removed the ipad look alike squares behind the icons. Now, after release, I see it also needs a semi-transparent background in the app drawer. I didnt know about the volume buttons in portrait.

The other problem is that the launcher does not simply decompile/compile. There are missing dependencies from the dumb ipad like squares. If I can get it to full decompile/compile we can do a lot more.

Changing just the bar dpi should not be a problem...I will work on more this week.

Personally, I would rather get rid of their launcher all together but it sounds like using most of the stock jb launchers is not an option due to the fact that they are not compile for the low red of the S1.

I will try to decompile the stock one that I have that works and recompile and see if it still works. I am not overly familiar with modifying apks but I know how to basically decompile and recompile using some tools I have gotten.

It does decompiile/compile, I was in error above. I was doing something wrong I guess :)

I am running Apex on my S1 and have a lot of options configured. It works quite well. That was the biggest hurdle. I wish PiPo would release their newer S1 firmware as I would rather be building off of that.

Pipo are proving to be on the ball with new releases of Firmware for all their tablets.

Where they are letting the side down is the naming/continuity of firmwares and inconsistent access to download them.

Here is the latest listing (13/11/12) of ALL firmwares available to download - plus those that have been downloaded and subsequently removed from the Pipo's website - there may be others........
If anyone has a copy of the firmwares which I have been unable to download I would be greatful if you could send it to me/provide a d/l link and I will then add it to the list

Wow...the folks over at PiPO have been churning out firmwares and messing around with their firmware links.

All English version firmwares are available under the "Other Firmwares" tab (click the Union Jack flag in the upper right corner of the official website to get English language version of the site - www.pipo.cn ) in Service > Firmware Upgrade. I don't know about all the models listed, but at least the U1 Pro firmware download link takes me to the following: http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=167191&uk=1811948349&third=0#dir/path=%2F%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E5%9B%BA%E4%BB%B6%2FU1pro where there are two different firmwares, each with the same upload date and no real way to determine which is older (the "latest" Chinese firmware appears to correspond to the English firmware with the CPT360 language in the file name, so that may be the most recent one).

With all these changes it is difficult to keep track.
