I can confirm that the Jellybean firmware for the Pipo M1 is not compatable with the OEM tablets in this thread. Orgos ROM may work with a limited number of Pipo devices, but I would not recommend using it when there is a perfectly good Jellybean ROM available.

Dan,

How is the JB Rom not compatible with the tablets? Is it a framework issue?
Tablets:
Acer Iconia A100 w/ ICS beta ROM (Dead)
Onda Vi10 Elite w/ CM 10 Preview 4 - Kernel 3.0.36 (Broken Battery connection)
97s (Yuandao N90 clone) w/ customized Orgos 1.0c ROM
(working on a JB ROM for the 97s)

So how do we root the pipo m1 max seems there is virtually nothing online

Any tools for the Cube or other RK3066 devices should also work with the Pipo.

I think there is a hardware difference, most likely the touchscreen and drivers, possibly the mainboard itself. The screen lights up on boot but no animation and never arrive at the lock screen so there is no way to know if the ROM is actually loading. I sent you a download link for the JB firmware to have a look at.......

Just got a copy of the ROM. I will check to see what I can find. You would probably need a compatibility patch (such as with ChrsitianTroy ROM) to use this one. I will see what I can do.

Edit: Seems there is a change with the kernel. It is up to 3.0.36+ instead of 3.0.8+ ... It would explain a lot. Now, if I understand correctly how it works, it seems the kernel is one big compiled module instead of one for each piece of hardware. If that is the case, it will make things much more complicated. I have a few ideas I want to try though...
