Pipo s1 pro root?
7. In my case, I got an error saying that adb was out of date. I fixed that problem by copying the adb.exe file from the SDK/platform-tools of the Android SDK, which I use (and which was up-to-date). I'm not sure, but I guess this file should not be too difficult to find.

And once the tablet has restarted three times, the tablet is in the root mode.

Hopefully these instructions will help you and maybe others...

mrd, I waited and nothing happed. Did a reset for a few times and then it worked.

Jabbzz - no CWM, use the RKBatchTool and connect + click switch, then upgrade, that's it
Hydras, How did you make it work? For me it is still appearing the Recovery system v4.4.01 message...

Got it solved. I plugged the tablet in the pc and I run rkbatchtools. Then press the “ volume +“ key for a few seconds, at the same time press “reset”, release” Volume + “ until the tool finds out your tablet. After that I have loaded a new image.

I tried the tsparky root method after flashing with Shwartz's release 2 rom and it said there was no room left on the device, anyone figure this out?

Finally got ROOT with version 2 of this ROM.

Used the file (RK3188_Dans Root Script.zip) in this post on Slatedroid by dzaiton13: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/85346-rooting-rk3188-tablets/page__view__findpost__p__1025370

Pipo s1 pro root?
After several hours, and having checked many webs, including Russian and Spanish ones, I found an "easy way" (once you know it) to root the Pipo S1 PRO, so, pay attention, hydras :)

1.- Download the USB drivers for the tablet here: http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&key=fe637899102546c859ea28a9bbd34bb5&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.slatedroid.com%2Ftopic%2F74545-how-to-root-the-chuwi-v88%2F&v=1&libId=2bd87e9d-6a0d-43e1-9f71-b9fed03d54a6&out=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.droid-life.com%2F2013%2F04%2F08%2Fkoush-releases-universal-adb-driver-for-windows%2F&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.es%2F&title=How%20to%20root%20the%20Chuwi%20V88%20-%20SlateDroid.com&txt=I%20installed%20the%20ADB%20drivers%20from%20here&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13711430209616
2.- You may need to restart your computer after doing this.
3.- Then install Moborobo from here:
http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&key=fe637899102546c859ea28a9bbd34bb5&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.slatedroid.com%2Ftopic%2F74545-how-to-root-the-chuwi-v88%2F&v=1&libId=2bd87e9d-6a0d-43e1-9f71-b9fed03d54a6&out=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.moborobo.com%2F&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.es%2F&title=How%20to%20root%20the%20Chuwi%20V88%20-%20SlateDroid.com&txt=install%20from%20here&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_137114326631810
4.- You should connect the tablet to the PC either by USB cable or by WiFi. Moborobo should recognize the tablet as S1 PRO.
5.- Download this zip file:
http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&key=fe637899102546c859ea28a9bbd34bb5&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.slatedroid.com%2Ftopic%2F74545-how-to-root-the-chuwi-v88%2F&v=1&libId=2bd87e9d-6a0d-43e1-9f71-b9fed03d54a6&out=https%3A%2F%2Fppcqq.googlecode.com%2Ffiles%2FTPSparkyRoot-4.1.1Root.7z&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.es%2F&title=How%20to%20root%20the%20Chuwi%20V88%20-%20SlateDroid.com&txt=from%20here&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13711431798318
and uncompress it somewhere.
6.- Then you should execute the TPSparkyRoot.bat script (in admin mode) from the zip file downloaded in the previous step. You should see some instruction text: basically, press any key in order to make the tablet reboot. You will be asked three times to do so.
7. In my case, I got an error saying that adb was out of date. I fixed that problem by copying the adb.exe file from the SDK/platform-tools of the Android SDK, which I use (and which was up-to-date). I'm not sure, but I guess this file should not be too difficult to find.

I've done everything exactly as described above with my Pipo S1 Pro and yet it's not rooted.. Any ideas? :/
